Entrepreneurship Program Internship

for

Bowie State University Students 


The Entrepreneurship Program Intern performs entry-level professional work to support the operation and marketing functions of the Bowie Business Innovation Center (Bowie BIC), the entrepreneurship and business acceleration program located at the College of Business at Bowie State University since 2012.

The professional work of the Bowie BIC Entrepreneurship Program Intern will gradually increase in difficulty and responsibility as the intern receives gains experience in operations and marketing.  The Intern hired for this position will need strong critical thinking skills and time management skills, as well as creativity and an interest in entrepreneurship.  This position is open to business and entrepreneurship students and students in other majors who express a genuine interest supporting business growth and development.


Intern Requirements:

  • Customer service skills
  • Strong written/verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office Suite proficiency
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Creativity and flexibility
  • Familiarity using social media (i.e., LinkedIn Facebook and Twitter)

Intern Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a Marketing Plan to increase BSU student and faculty engagement with Bowie BIC entrepreneurship programs and opportunities
  • Help to prepare Marketing Plan to increase the pipeline of local businesses to join Bowie BIC
  • Help manage and create new digital content for Bowie BIC
  • Support meeting planning and logistics for entrepreneurship activities
  • Assist in administrative activities
  • Build new databases of special target markets (i.e., 8a certified businesses)
  • Update media lists

Position Details:

The next intern position will begin in the fall of 2017.  Interns will work up to 16 hours per week and will be paid $10/hour.
