Who We Are

A small management team and business-led board of directors actively supports the Bowie Business Innovation Center (Bowie BIC) business accelerator community.  This team is comprised of area entrepreneurs, seasoned business executives and entrepreneurial resources.  Bowie BIC is a Maryland nonprofit organization headquartered at the Center for Business at Bowie State University.

OPERATIONS DIRECTOR & STUDENT LIAISON

Crystal Clark is the Operations Director & Student Liaison. She has over 15 years of experience in business operations and administration. In her position, she oversees website management as well as social media outreach.  She also provides support for meeting planning and event execution.

John Henry King is the Economic Development Director for the City of Bowie, Maryland, where he has worked since 2001.  He has served in economic development positions for over 29 years.

Adam has been a senior manager with both public and private companies for more than 30 years. His longest stay with a public company was 18 years with Anacomp, an international information technology service provider.

Marcus A. Smith Sr. joined M&T Bank in 2008 as a Senior Business Banker covering the Prince George’s County market and was promoted to a Team Leader in 2011. He worked at Bank of American prior to joining M&T Bank.

Nancy Stark is Senior Manager of Community Development Banking at Capital One. Nancy manages Capital One’s philanthropic relationships with nonprofit business development organizations across the Mid-Atlantic region.

Ms. Wade possesses over 37 years of experience in the business arena, with approximately 32 of those years spent in human resource management.  Her career has been comprised of progressively challenging positions, culminating in her current role as President of Workforce Resources, Inc. (“Workforce”).

Anthony C. Nelson, Ph.D.

Anthony C. Nelson is the dean of the College of Business at Bowie State University (BSU). He is responsible for the overall operation of the college, which involves strategic planning, budgeting, personnel management, curricula and instructional management, and other academic matters.  He created an Entrepreneurship Academy within the College of Business, as well as a Student Hatchery to support BSU student entrepreneurs. He led the university’s efforts, in concert with the City of Bowie and Prince George’s County, to locate the Bowie Business Innovation Center on campus in 2011.
